MASL, Grabyo, AIR and Tecla to Showcase at SPORTEL Monaco
Major Arena Soccer League (MASL), Grabyo, Advanced Image Robotics (AIR) and Tecla System will come together at SPORTEL Monaco this October to showcase a connected live sports workflow, bringing robotic cameras in the arena, remote production in the cloud, and live distribution to broadcast, streaming and social channels.
Built for the needs of sports rights holders, the workflow explores how they can efficiently capture and distribute live coverage from multiple arenas for broadcast and streaming partners, expanding advertising opportunities and real-time digital content.
For leagues and federations, expanding coverage often means balancing the cost of production with the requirements of different platforms and partners. The demonstration will show how connecting specialist technologies can simplify that process and help organisations get more from each event.
Building on MASL’s existing live workflow
MASL already uses Grabyo as a centralised platform for managing live match signal distributionOTT services and broadcast partners.
Bringing venue feeds into one cloud environment gives the league a consistent way to serve its distribution network throughout the season. MASL also uses Grabyo to insert ad markers into its live feeds, enabling receiving partners to manage commercial breaks within their own advertising workflows.
“For MASL, the goal is to make every live match available everywhere. By centralising production and distribution in the cloud, the league can serve its broadcast and streaming partners while creating content for its own digital channels within the same production workflow. It gives MASL the flexibility to reach more audiences and create more commercial value without adding unnecessary production complexity and cost.”
- Gareth Capon, CEO, Grabyo
Alongside live distribution, the league creates and publishes highlights to its website and social channels while matches still live. . This allows MASL to engage fans as the action unfolds and extend the value of its coverage to fans who aren’t watching the full game. The SPORTEL demonstration will build on this approach, demonstrating how automated capture and additional media-management capabilities could connect with the league’s existing production and distribution workflow.
Connecting one centralized workflow
AIR’s AI-powered camera robots automatically track the action from multiple positions around the arena, reducing the need for an operator at every camera position.
“For leagues operating across multiple venues, the challenge is capturing more of the action without adding production complexity at every location. AI-powered robotics gives production teams the flexibility to deploy more camera positions, operate them remotely and create high-quality coverage with a much smaller onsite footprint. Bringing that together with a software-based workflow and cloud production creates a model that can scale as coverage grows.”
- Kevin McClave, CEO, Advanced Image Robotics (AIR)
TeclaSystem’s InGrid capture technology supports the ingest, processing and routing of venue feeds into the production environment, with feeds recorded and made available as managed assets from the moment they arrive. Within Grabyo, remote teams can switch between sources, add graphics and commentary, create clips and manage outputs for different audiences and platforms.
TeclaSystem’s Synaxis media asset management and Dynamo playout technologies extend this workflow. Every game, clip and highlight is catalogued and tagged with metadata, so teams can quickly search, preview, edit and share moments. Content is archived for long-term reuse, repurposed for web, social and OTT, and distributed to broadcasters and partners through scheduled linear playout and delivery. The workflow can run on cloud, on-premises or hybrid infrastructure, so leagues and broadcasters can turn each game into content that keeps delivering value long after the final whistle.
“Tecla gives sports organisations and broadcasters the ingest, media asset management and AI-driven discovery behind channels that cannot go dark, live from the first play. It is broadcast-grade ingest and MAM you can trust on air, with AI search to find the right moment in seconds, and an engineering team delivers exactly what you need, when you need it.”
- Simone D’Antone, CEO, TeclaSystem
The result is coverage across multiple venues without a full production operation at each one. One live event feeds broadcast and streaming programmes, partner advertising and highlights for social and digital channels..
Making sports rights easier to activate
For rights holders, every match is a chance to reach a global audience. Distribute the live feed to partners around the world and a league can take its sport into new markets, reach fans on every platform and earn more from the same coverage.
“As we grow the MASL, we want to make it easier for more partners to carry our matches and for more fans to experience the league wherever they choose to watch. That means creating a production and distribution model that can scale across our venues, support different broadcast and commercial requirements, and help us get more value from every match. This workflow is about giving us that flexibility while continuing to grow the reach of the MASL.”
Broadcasters and streaming platforms get live sport that is easier to receive, schedule, promote and monetise: consistent feeds, ad breaks they control, and highlights while the game is still on.
The demonstration will give visitors a practical view of how these capabilities fit together, from capturing the action in the arena to delivering live coverage and digital content production for the fans.
