MASL FINALS ON SIRIUSXM FC

The Major Arena Soccer League Ron Newman Cup Finals will once again be broadcast on SiriusXM.


The Finals were carried by the streaming giant in 2022 and the MASL is proud to once again bring the biggest game of the year to fans on the satellite radio streaming giant.


Thursday's game featuring the Baltimore Blast and the Chihuahua Savage will air on SiriusXM FC 157 and Friday's Championship game will air on Sirius 121, XM 202, and Internet 965.

The San Diego based broadcast duo of Craig Elsten and Nate Abaurrea will bring fans all the action from both games.


Craig Elsten is a San Diego-based sports broadcaster who has been working in the business since 1996. He just completed his 12th season as the “Voice of the Sockers”, serves as the club’s Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Communications, and also co-hosts the weekly Twitch program “Sockers Overtime” with Jerry Jimenez. This is Craig’s seventh indoor soccer Finals announcing assignment, and third straight Ron Newman Cup Final.  He has previously served as the play-by-play voice for the WMF World Cup (2015, 2019), the San Diego Gulls, SDSU baseball, UC San Diego basketball and baseball, USD basketball and multiple high school championships on local television. In addition, Elsten is the co-host of the popular San Diego Padres podcast “Padres Hot Tub” and television streaming podcast “Crossing Streams”, and works as the PA voice for San Diego Wave FC. He began his career as a 15+ year radio veteran on The Mighty 690, KOGO, KLSD, Xtra Sports 1360 and The Mighty 1090. The 50-year-old lives in La Mesa, CA with his wife Mitzi and son James.


Nate Abaurrea has been a commentary voice of the Major Arena Soccer League since 2016. This will be his third Ron Newman Cup Final assignment, having called the 2018 Final at Arena Monterrey, and the 2022 Final in San Diego. Hailing from Watsonville, California, Abaurrea became the first-ever English Language Radio Voice in Liga MX with the Xolos of Club Tijuana, calling matches on radio and TV from 2016 to 2019, while also working as a Host and Presenter for FOX Sports Mexico. He has since worked as a Broadcaster and Stadium MC for San Diego Loyal of the USL Championship, and just completed his 7th season as a commentator for the San Diego Sockers.
