MASL ANNOUNCES DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

Following a thorough review of all video evidence, the Disciplinary Review Committee and the MASL Office of the Commissioner have evaluated the postgame confrontations involving the San Diego Sockers, Milwaukee Wave, and spectators at UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena. As a result of this review, the MASL is issuing the following disciplinary actions:

San Diego Sockers:

Stefan Mijatovic: Permanently expelled from the Major Arena Soccer League for severe and violent conduct. Mijatovic is banned from all MASL activities and facilities. This action reflects a direct violation of his zero tolerance probation status.

Luiz Morales:  Issued a one (1) game suspension and fined an undisclosed amount for severe and violent conduct.

Jesus Pacheco: Issued a one (1) game suspension and fined an undisclosed amount for severe and violent conduct.

Sebastian Mendez:  Fined an undisclosed amount for severe and violent conduct.

Tavoy Morgan:  Fined an undisclosed amount for severe and violent conduct while on disciplinary probation.

Cesar Cerda: Automatic one (1) game suspension and a fine of an undisclosed amount following a red card for severe and violent conduct. Upon formal review, the appeal to rescind the red card has been denied, as the decision did not meet the threshold of a clear and obvious error required to overturn the referee’s ruling.

In addition, the Office of the Commissioner has issued a fine of an undisclosed amount to both the Milwaukee Wave and the San Diego Sockers organizations for failure to maintain proper bench and postgame decorum, actions deemed conduct detrimental to the league. The MASL maintains a strict standard regarding player, staff, and spectator safety. Any escalation involving physical confrontation, particularly in postgame environments, will be met with immediate and significant disciplinary action. The league’s investigation into fan involvement is ongoing and will be pursued to its full extent. The MASL, in coordination with both clubs, Wisconsin Center District Security, Panther Arena Security, the Wave’s Head of Security, and local law enforcement, is actively working to identify all individuals responsible. Any spectator found to have engaged in or contributed to these incidents will face indefinite bans from all MASL events and from the UW–Milwaukee Panther Arena, and will be subject to referral to arena management and local authorities for further action, including potential legal consequences.

Full cooperation in identifying those responsible, regardless of team affiliation, is expected. The league reserves the right to impose additional discipline as the investigation continues.
