Leo Gibson voted Week 10 Sporturf Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY (Jan. 30, 2020) – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today that Kansas City Comets forward Leo Gibson was voted the SporTurf Player of the Week for Week Ten. Gibson is the second Comets player to earn the award in the last three weeks after teammate Kevin Ellis earned the honor in Week Eight.

The Player of the Week is voted on each week by MASL fans and MASL teams. Harrisburg Heat goalkeeper William Banahene placed second in this week’s polls.

Gibson took control of his team’s match last week very early. By the end of the first 15 minutes he had already earned a hat trick. He would add another three goals and an assist to his tally by the end of the game for a seven-point game.

Gibson and the Comets are idle in Week Eleven, but they welcome in the Harrisburg Heat on Feb 6, then travel to the Milwaukee Wave on Feb 8. Both games are crucial to the Comets playoff chances and can be seen live on the MASL’s streaming home, MASLtv.
