Kenardo Forbes Returns to the Silver Knights

Syracuse’s Top Scorer Rejoins the Club for the 2016-17 Season

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After another year of impressing Silver Knights fans, coaches and earning Honorable Mention All-League honors, midfielder Kenardo Forbes is back with the club for the 2016-17 campaign.

“Over the past six years, Kenardo is one of most intelligent players we’ve put on the field. He has a tremendously high soccer IQ,” Silver Knights Coach Bryan O’Quinn said. “He’s one of our offensive MVPs for the last few years, and he’s one of the big pieces of the puzzle. We’re very happy to have him back leading this team.”

Silver Knights General Manager Tommy Tanner rates Forbes as one of the best players in the MASL, citing his consistently excellent level of play during his tenure with the Silver Knights.

“He’s everything you could possibly want in a midfielder,” Tanner explained. “I consider Kenardo to be one of the top two-way midfielders in this league.”

The numbers bear out the praise the organization has heaped upon Forbes. He led Silver Knights players in scoring last season, tallying 11 goals and 16 assists. He was also second in scoring the previous season, scoring 36 points.

In addition to being blessed with strength and speed, Forbes has international experience. His soccer resume includes time playing for the Jamaica National Football Team. In the summer, area soccer fans have also seen him star for the Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer League.

“Kenardo is a tremendous indoor and outdoor professional,” O’Quinn observed. “He’s very hard to take the ball away from, and he’s very creative and deceptive with it.”

Forbes gets his chance to find the back of the opposing goal again when the Silver Knights open their 2016-2017 vs. the Harrisburg Heat on Friday, Nov. 18 in the War Memorial at Oncenter. For information on tickets, contact 315-303-7261 or log onto www.syracusesilverknights.com.
