HEAT RETURN HOME FOR A DOUBLEHEADER WEEKEND
Heat Celebrate 30 Years of Indoor Soccer With Alumni Game on Friday and Hall of Fame on Sunday.
HARRISBURG, PA - The Harrisburg Heat return home on Friday, March 11th to play Utica City FC at the Equine Arena located at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Arena. Game time is 7:35 PM. The Heat return home with a record of two wins and fifteen losses. The Heat have six home games remaining on the schedule with just one away game. The game can also be viewed on line at masltv.com.
The Heat have had some unfortunate events that have help lead to the tough season. The Harrisburg Heat signed four international players this off-season including midfielder Daniel Villela who was a returning all-league player in addition to midfielder James Vaughan, and forwards Yuri Farkas and Ricardo John. None of these four players have been approved for their visa by the United States Department of Homeland Security. Compounding the issue the Heat have suffered several injuries with four players out this weekend.
The Harrisburg Heat look forward to celebrating thirty years of indoor soccer as many of the alumni return on Friday to play a game at halftime. In addition, the alumni will be available to sign autographs for fans along with the current players. On Sunday, the Heat will induct Dr. Rex Herbert to the Harrisburg Heat Hall of Fame. Dr. Herbert was the popular owner of the Heat from 1991-2003. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be at halftime of the game on Sunday, March 13th.
The Heat play the Baltimore Blast on Sunday at the Equine Arena. Game time is 5:05 PM. Going into the weekend, Dom Francis leads the team with thirteen goals and twenty-three points. Malcolm Harris leads the Heat in assists with twelve while also scoring eight goals. Matt Braem and Brad Kerstetter lead the Heat defensively with twenty-one blocks each.
