Harrisburg Heat Re-Sign Nelson Santana

The Harrisburg Heat of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) have announced the return of Co-Captain Nelson Santana to their 2019-2020 roster. A fan favorite, Santana returns to the Heat for his second season. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Santana continues his stellar playing career which includes indoor stints in Syracuse, Ontario and Baltimore. Nelson has received All-League honors four times and has been a member of the United States National Futsal Team.

As a Harrisburg Heat defender last season, Santana played in all 24 games and scored eight goals and recorded 11 assists along the way. He recorded 26 blocks for the Heat, which tied him for the team lead in that category. In addition, Santana was fifth on the team with 19 points for the year.

On the announcement of his return to the Heat, Santana said “I want to take this time to thank Coach Pat, Mr. Kevin Healey and Owner Carl Delmont for once again giving me the opportunity to play for the Harrisburg Heat this upcoming season. I’m excited to be back! I can’t wait to start working hard again with my teammates so we can give our fans a great show every time we step on the field! Go Heat!”
