FIRST PLACE WAVE HIT THE ROAD FOR PAIR OF GAMES THIS WEEKEND

by Milwaukee Wave

The 7-time champion Milwaukee Wave are headed to St. Louis to face the Ambush Friday night at 7:35pm CT. After that game, they will board a plane and make their way to Baltimore to take on the rival Blast, Saturday at 5:05pm CT. “We are playing well as a team and we want to keep that going into a very tough weekend on the road,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “St. Louis may be down and out but they are playing for their playoff lives and we expect to see their best on Friday.” The Ambush is on a three-game losing streak, dropping games against Chihuahua (5-11), Monterrey (4-7) and most recently Kansas City (5-6).  St. Louis is ranked 6th in the MASL East Division. The Wave is on a two-game winning streak with wins against Kansas City (9-8) and Utica City FC (5-3) at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The Blast is raked 4th in the MASL East and are coming off a pair of wins last weekend against the Harrisburg Heat (11-3, 10-3). “Any other week of the year we would of changed our preparation for Baltimore,” added Oliviero. “With the Blast being our second game this weekend, we don't want to look past St. Louis. We know it’s going to be a tough divisional match on Friday and that’s where our focus has been. There’s a positive vibe through the team going into this weekend and we are confident we can get the job done.”
