Express Get their First Win on the Road

El Paso, TX (January 13, 2017) -- Turlock Express (5-7) traveled out of Northern California Friday night to be hosted by Southwest Division team El Paso Coyotes (0-11). The Express outshined El Paso with a 13-9 victory not only improving their overall MASL record but taking their first win on the Road.

El Paso who had announced earlier this week new Player signings and in addition a new head coach for the Coyotes, began the match in search of their first win.

Even though The Coyotes now have a 0-11 record in their inaugural season, the match had a fast start with various early attempts on goal from El Paso that caught Turlock by surprise. With less than 5 minutes into the game, Matthew Germain from Turlock turned the tables in favor of the Express and made a statement with the first goal of the night assisted by Jose Barajas. Germain continued to dominate the opening period with an additional goal at 3:27 that gave Express the lead.

El Paso however did not hold back having five different players response with goals of their own that challenged the Express to a 5-6 score to finish up the first half of the match.

The third quarter was a rainfall of goals from both teams searching to gain possession and take the lead. A total of 8 goals, 4 and 4 from both Turlock and El Paso were witnessed that fired up the Texas crowd. With less than 30 seconds left in the 3rd quarter Defender Alex Paz gains possession of a loose ball and counterattacks El Paso that ultimately put Turlock back in the lead with a one goal differential.

The final quarter of the match was dominated by Turlock who shut El Paso out by putting a stop to their offense attempts. Anibal Echeverria had a total of 3 goals tonight followed by Martyn Arista and Jorge Carmona who had 2 goals each. Adrian Gutierrez, Ivan Campos and Adrian Plascencia all contributed a goal each that finalized the scoreboard to the 13-9 victory.
