Dallas Sidekicks Lose Third Straight MASL Match

Allen, Texas (Feb. 16, 2017) – The Dallas Sidekicks fall to 7-12 in Major Arena Soccer League play with a 21–2 lose Thursday night to Soles de Sonora.

Soles de Sonora came out and dominated the first quarter. Soles goals were scored by Ramundo Contreras, Alejandro Leyva, Erick Rosas, Enrique Canez. Franck Tayou and three goals scored by Mauricio Salles. Tonight, the Sidekicks ended up on the wrong side of the record books by setting a record for goals allowed in a quarter with 9.

Sonora’ continued to find the back of the net in the second quarter as they extended their lead to 11-1 at hafltime, goals were scored by Christian Segura and Erick Rosas. Dallas’ respond with a goal of their own by Jamie Lovegrove in the second quarter but Sonora’s offense was to much to handle for Dallas. The Sidekicks entered the match with a record of 0-5 when trailing at halftime.

Sonora turned up in the pressure in the third quarter with goals scored by Raymundo Contreras, Franck Tayou, Erick Rosas, Hiram Ruiz, Enrique Canez and 2 goals by Christian Segura to go 18 -2 at the end of the third quarter. Clark Bininng found the back of the net for Dallas in the third quarter.

Sonora closed out the game on a 3-0 goal run to cruise to victory.

The Sidekicks are now 0-15 during the Simon Bozas era when trailing at halftime.

The Sidekicks are currently on a three game losing streak and looking to have a bounce back performance on the 25th. Fans will get a chance to see the Sidekicks in action on February 25 at the Allen Event Center when the Sidekicks host the Ontario Fury. Unfortunately the Dallas Sidekicks will be missing the playoffs for the second straight season.
