Dallas Sidekicks, Florida Tropics both enter needing a win

ALLEN, Texas – The Florida Tropics are at the midway point of a season-long five-game road trip when they visit Allen, Texas, Saturday night to take on the Dallas Sidekicks in an 8:05 p.m. EST start.

Both teams come in needing a win, and both come in having lost their last games in overtime.

Florida (6-4-2) is in the midst of a three-game losing streak, their longest since dropping four in a row at the end of the 2018-19 season. They lost in overtime last week to the Harrisburg Heat, 4-3.

Things are much bleaker in Dallas, (0-10-2) where the Sidekicks are still looking for their first win of the season in this their 13th start. They come in following a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to their local rivals, the Mesquite Outlaws, also in extra time.

Florida’s leading scorer, Victor Parreiras, is out with a quad injury. The offense is currently led by Ricardo Carvalho (11 goals and six assists) and defender Drew Ruggles (10 goals, six assists.). For Dallas, Alberto Rodriguez is showing the way offensively with 12 goals and one assist.

On this string of away games, Florida has dates Friday, Feb. 10 in Kansas City and Saturday, Feb. 11 in St. Louis before returning home for two straight at the RP Funding Center. That includes a Sunday, Feb 19 date against the Kansas City Comets and a visit from the Tacoma Stars on Sunday, Feb. 26.
