Allen, Texas (Jan. 22 2017) – The Dallas Sidekicks move to 6-8 in Major Arena Soccer League play with a dominating 12-5 win Sunday afternoon to El Paso Coyotes.

The Sidekicks’ offense came out hot in the first quarter with goals scored by Cameron Brown, Clint Ritter, Ricardinho to take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter. Sidekicks goalie, Juan Gamboa came up big with 5 key saves to keep the Coyotes scoreless in the first quarter.

Cameron Brown has scored in 25 consecutive Major Arena Soccer League matches and will be hoping to extend his record against Turlock on Saturday night.

Cameron Brown achieved his feat for the Dallas Sidekicks across two seasons in 2015-16. Brown missed game 12 of last season at Brownsville, but he scored at least one goal in games 9, 10, 11, and 13-20 of last season as well as all 14 games of this year.

Things started to get chippy in the second quarter as both teams committed harsh tackles. Omar Tena scored the lone goal in the half for the Coyotes but the Sidekicks offense was too much to handle as goals were scored by TJ Nelson and Fernando Garza netting a hat-trick to give the Sidekicks a 6-1 lead into halftime.

The El Paso Coyotes offense started to warm up in the third quarter with goals scored by Daniel Frias, Misael Villarreal and Louis Herrera. Dallas’ continued to keep the pressure on the Coyotes as Cameron Brown and Jamie Lovegrove found the back of the net to give the Sidekicks a 9-4 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The Sidekicks closed out the game strong on a 2-1 goal run with Clint Ritter scoring his second goal of the afternoon and Cam Brown netting his third for a hat-trick.

The Sidekicks visit the Ontario Fury on Friday and enter the match on a two game winning streak. With six games remaining the Sidekicks still have a fighting chance of finishing second in the Soutwest division and earning a spot in the playoffs as they are just 1 full game behind Baja.
