Dallas Sidekicks Derail Turlock Express

Allen, Texas (Jan. 14, 2017) – The Dallas Sidekicks move to 5-8 in Major Arena Soccer League play with a dominating 12-5 win Saturday night to Turlock Express.  

The first half was a tale of two quarters.  Turlock scored the evenings opening goal and lead 2-1 for most of the way until a last minute penalty kick was given to Dallas and Jamie Lovegrove then converted the penalty. The Sidekicks came out hot in the second quarter, Sidekicks goals were scored by Fernando Garza and Clark Binning.

The Sidekicks’ came out firing the third quarter with goals scored by Clark Binning, Nestor Hernandez, VcMor Eligwe and Cameron Brown.  Hernandez scored his first goal of the season for the Sidekicks after he signed with the team on Wednesday.

Cameron Brown has scored in 24 consecutive Major Arena Soccer League matches and will be hoping to extend his record against Turlock on Saturday night.

Cameron Brown achieved his feat for the Dallas Sidekicks across two seasons in 2015-16. Brown missed game 12 of last season at Brownsville, but he scored at least one goal in games 9, 10, 11, and 13-20 of last season as well as all 13 games of this year.

The Sidekicks’ offense continued to shine in the fourth quarter with goals scored by Nestor Hernandez, Cameron Brown and 2 goals scored by VcMor Eligwe. Turlock responded with 3 goals of their own but the Sidekicks offense was too much to handle.  Tonight, Dallas scored 8 goals in the second half which tied a season record. The only other time Dallas’ scored 8 goals in a half was in El Paso on November 4th
