Dallas Sidekicks announce the signing of a former MLS star

José Burciaga Jr. joins the Sidekicks for the 2018-2019 season 

ALLEN, TEXAS (Oct. 15, 2018) The Dallas Sidekicks are excited to announce the signing of prominent soccer player José Burciaga Jr. to our 2018-2019 roster. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Burciaga was born in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and played for the Dallas Texans Soccer Club in his youth. He decided to turn professional after finishing high school at Duncanville. In 2001, he was selected 12th overall in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft by the Kansas City Wizards. In 2004 his honors included U.S. Open Cup Champion and MLS Cup Runner Up.

In 2005 he was selected to play on the MLS Select team vs. Real Madrid and in 2006 he received MLS Best XI and team MVP. He was also named the MLS Humanitarian of the Year in 2008.

Jose embodies the Sidekicks spirit and we can’t wait for fans to see his skilled work on the field. This addition will prove to elevate the level of play for this 2018-2019 season.
