COMETS CONTINUE TO BUILD ROSTER

KANSAS CITY (Oct. 17, 2016) – With the 2016-2017 Home Opener only days away, the Kansas City Comets roster is beginning to fill out. The team announced today the signings of goalkeepers Stephen Paterson and midfielders Guerro Pino and Carlos Trombini.

2016-2017 marks Paterson’s third season with the Comets after joining the team in 2014. As a back-up to Danny Waltman and Boris Pardo, Paterson has learned from some of the game’s greatest and performed well every time he has been called upon. In fact, the 29 year old has claimed victory in all three of his starts.

“I’m glad to be back for another season,” said Paterson. “We’re already working hard and coach (Goran Koradzov) has been great about setting some expectations for this year.”

Carlos Trombini comes to the Comets after starting all eighteen games his senior year at Park University. Along the way he led the team in goals, assists and points with eight, nine and twenty-five respectively.

Guerrero Pino is a product of the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC). He was an instant impact player with the ‘Roos, playing central defense and earning team MVP honors in his first year. He followed that up with another MVP performance in his sophomore year at UMKC as he alternated between center back and center midfield. Pino anchored the central defense for the Roos that held opponents to a 1.43 shooting percentage in his senior campaign. He scored four goals and added three assists in 60 games across his career.
