Colombian Forward Re-Signs with Dallas Sidekicks

Ruben Hernandez re-signs with the Sidekicks for the 2019-2020 season

ALLEN, Tex. (Sep. 23, 2019) The Dallas Sidekicks have re-signed forward Ruben Hernandez for the 2019-2020 Major Arena Soccer League season. This will be Hernandez’s third season with the Sidekicks. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Hernandez was born in Armenia, Colombia, but went to high school in Carrollton, Texas and attended Richland College. Hernandez has played soccer since he was a kid and he grew up watching his dad play soccer for the Colombian National team in the 1990 World Cup and playing for the Red Bulls of Major League Soccer. Soccer runs in Ruben’s blood and he played professionally in Colombia for Deportes Quindío before coming to play for the Sidekicks. He is ready to start the season and can’t wait to get on the pitch and score some goals for the team.

When asked what it means to sign with the Dallas Sidekicks, he said, “It makes me feel so happy, because soccer is the best sport.”
