Chiles Scores Four In Sockers 9-3 Win Over Dallas

Forward Kraig Chiles scored four goals, and Christian Gutierrez and  Brandon Escoto added two goals apiece in San Diego's 9-3 victory over  the Dallas Sidekicks at the Allen Event Center on Wednesday night.  Sockers goalkeeper Boris Pardo made a season-high 13 saves to earn the  win. The Sockers improved to 3-1 and took sole possession of second  place in the MASL's Pacific Division behind the 4-1 Tacoma Stars

After  a scoreless first period, San Diego took a 2-1 advantage into halftime  on markers from Escoto and Chiles. Escoto's goal at 5:28 was assisted by  Gutierrez to open the scoring. Three minutes later, Chiles took a Hiram  Ruiz (0-2=2) pass and deposited it in the back of the net past  Sidekicks' keeper Juan Gamboa. 

The Sockers gained control of the  match in the third period with two consecutive goals in a span of 15  seconds by Chiles beginning with a shootout goal at 1:24 and then his  third tally of the evening on the power play. Chiles (4-1=5) extended  his season-opening goal-scoring streak to four games.  Raymundo Reza in  his first game of the year scored to extend San Diego's lead to 5-1 only  three minutes into the quarter.

San Diego scored four straight  goals to dominate the fourth quarter. Gutierrez doubled up on goals  within a three-minute span, while Chiles and Escoto closed out the  Sockers' scoring midway through the period. Defender Juan Gonzalez had  his first point as a Socker with an assist on Gutierrez' second goal.

VcMor Eligwe notched two goals and Jamie Lovegrove added a late sixth-attacker goal for Dallas.
