Cerda's OT Goal Wins Dramatic 7-6 Game In Mexico

Cesar Cerda scored the game-winning power-play goal at 4:14 of overtime  to lift the San Diego Sockers to a 7-6 win over the Monterrey Flash in  Mexico. Goalkeeper Boris Pardo made 13 saves including a shootout  attempt by Monterrey's Frank Tayou with under two minutes remaining to  keep San Diego even at 6-6. Seven different players tallied for the  Sockers in a physical match that highlighted the best the MASL has to  offer. The win helps to erase last year's Western Conference Championship Game loss to the Flash and may make a difference later in  the season for playoff seeding.
