BUSY WEEKEND ON TAP FOR MILWAUKEE WAVE

by Milwaukee Wave

After a much needed ‘bye week’, the 7-time champions Milwaukee Wave are back in action this weekend!

First, Friday night, 6:35pm at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena against one of the newest teams in the Major Arena Soccer League, the Chihuahua Savage from Mexico.

After that game the Wave then travel to Dallas, Texas to face the Sidekicks on their turf at a new time of 12:30pm (Milwaukee Time) to accommodate for the Dallas Cowboys playoff game.

“While we are still building as a team, we’re ahead of where we were two weeks ago,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “It’s all uphill from here and doesn’t get any easier for us but still we are optimistic and ready to put our best foot forward this weekend.”

Coach Oliviero on…

…Chihuahua Savage.
“They (Chihuahua) have a lot of players that have played in the league before. Lots of quality individually and as a team. They’ve already played two of the best teams in the MASL and while they didn’t win either against San Diego or Ontario they hung in there until late in the fourth quarter. We know they are an excellent team, we know we have our work cut out for us but it’s always great to play in front of our fans! We’re feeling good about it and confidence is high!”

---on Dallas Sidekicks.
We know Dallas has great individual soccer players that are still learning to play together. They capitalized on their chances the last time we played them but we’ve basically have to go to Dallas and do what they did to us in Milwaukee, win.”

…on playoffs.
“The way things look is that we are not out of it by any means. There are some teams we won’t be able to catch but there is also that mentality of we just need to get in. Winning games at home are extremely important and then going to a city like Dallas and pulling out a result that maybe nobody in the league thinks we can get will certainly send a message.”

Tickets for Friday night’s 6:35pm game at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena are on sale at MilwaukeeWave.com or at the box office prior to the game.
