BLAST SIGN DOS SANTOS TO EXTENSION

BALTIMORE, Maryland (June 21, 2019) – The Baltimore Blast have announced the re-signing of 2018-2019 First Team All-MASL Defender Adriano Dos Santos to a two-year contract extension. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Dos Santos, 31, will be entering his tenth season of professional arena soccer, all with the Blast. As the longest tenured player on this roster, Dos Santos will look to lead a Blast backline that allowed the third fewest goals in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) last year.

The veteran defender broke out with the most points he’s registered in a season since the 2013-14 season that featured a multi-point scoring format. His 13 goals and 46 shots on goal were all career-bests.

Dos Santos provided one of the defining moments of the Blast’s season. On the road in the Eastern Division Playoffs, Dos Santos scored the game-winning and series clinching goal against Utica City FC.

His performances last season earned him an All-MASL First team selection and a nomination for the MASL Defender of the Year.

Coach Danny Kelly stated "Adriano re-signing with us for 2 more years is huge for the club. He's the heart and soul of our team and sets the standard that's expected here. He leads our guys every single day in terms of what it takes to be a pro and compete for championships, period."

“Adriano has been a key part of winning our many championships. He will continue to be a force to return the Blast to yet another championship” said Blast owner Ed Hale.

Dos Santos has proven to be one of the premier defenders in the MASL, and the Blast are looking forward to his continued efforts in reclaiming the Ron Newman Cup.
