BLAST PICK UP 9-5 ROAD WIN OVER UTICA CITY FC

Utica, N.Y. –  Utica City FC hosted the Baltimore Blast for the 4th meeting of the season between the two teams. It was a back and fourth battle throughout, and Cristhian Segura scored a hat trick in the first half, but UCFC fell 9-5.

2:40 into the 1st quarter,  Segura put his first in after an onslaught of shots to start the scoring with UCFC up 1-0. One minute later, the Blast’s barrage began with Tony Donatelli scoring off of , to tie the game up. Donatelli would score again at 6:34 in the 1st to put the Blast up, 2-Segura saw Donatelli get two, and answered with his second for UCFC and tied the game at 2 10:58 into the game.At 13:00, Baltimore scords again, this time Jonatas Melo sunk the goal off an assist from Oswald Annang. At the end of the 1st, Baltimore led 3-2.

With three minutes gone by in the second, Melo scored again for the Blast, putting them up 4-2. Next possession up, Juan periera Scored on a penalty kick putting the blast up by 2, 5-2 Baltimore.  4:28 into the 2nd, Segura scored the hat trick, as he netted his third goal of the game, to make it 5-3 Baltimore. Neither team would score for the rest of the 2nd, Baltimore led 5-3 at the half.

As the second half began, Baltimore scored again, Josh Hughes buried one with an assist by Ibrahima Keita. It was 6-3 Blast. 5:31 into the third, Bo Jelovac picked a corner for his first of the night, making it 6-4 Blast. That is how the third would end.

In the 4th, Lucio Gonzaga made it a one goal game with 10 minutes left. Baltimore would score two unanswered and seal the win. Mike Deasel scored the first, and Melo buried an empty net goal to make it 9-5.

This put the Blast’s record to 8-5, and Utica City Football Club drops to 3-11 on the season.
