BLAST DEFEAT SIDEKICKS

The Baltimore Blast kicked off 2017 hosting the Dallas Sidekicks. In front of 7,230 fans at the Royal Farms Arena the Blast defeated the Sidekicks 7-2.

The Blast grabbed an early lead when Tony Donatelli recorded his team leading 12th goal of the season. The goal was assisted by William Vanzela and was the only goal recorded in the quarter. At the end of the first the Blast led 1-0.

In the second quarter the Blast would extend their lead with a goal only :36 seconds into the quarter. The goal came from Tony Donatelli for his second of the game and was assisted by Pat Healey. At the 8:12 mark Pat Healey, playing in his first home game since rejoining the team, recorded his first goal of the season. At the half the Blast led 3-0.

In the second half the Blast continued to control possession and add to their lead. Adriano Dos Santos scored a goal at the 1:54 mark off an assist from Lucas Roque who was in the lineup for the first time this season. Vini Dantas would push the Blast lead to 4 with his 11th goal of the season assisted by Dos Santos. The Sidekicks would find the back of the net late in the quarter with a goal from Cameron Brown. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 5-1.

The Sidekicks took advantage of a power play opportunity to start the final quarter with a goal from Carlos Videla. The Blast would respond when Elton de Oliveria recorded his first Blast goal off an assist from Andrew Hoxie. Another Blast player would record his first goal of the season when Daniel Peruzzi found the back of the net. Tony Donatelli recorded his team leading 11th assist on the goal.

The Blast were led by Tony Donatelli who recorded 2 goals and and assist. Pat Healey, Vini Dantas, and Adriano Dos Santos also added a goal and an assist each in the victory.
