Blast Defeat Heat 11-3

The Baltimore Blast hosted the Harrisburg Heat on Sunday afternoon in the final game of the regular season. The Blast defeated the Heat 11-3. 

The game got off to a fast start with five goals recorded in the first quarter. The first goal of the game went to Thiago Freitas of the Heat at the 2:11 mark. The Blast answered with two goals in 29 seconds to take the lead. Tony Donatelli got the scoring started for the Blast with his 19th goal of the season assisted by Juan Pereira. Jonatas Melo followed with his 11th goal of the season assisted by Nelson Santana. At the 7:43 mark Daniel Peruzzi recorded his fifth goal of the season and before the end of the quarter Andrew Hoxie would score the fourth straight Blast goal off an assist from Tony Donatelli. At the end of the first the Blast led 4-1.

Lucas Roque recorded the first goal of the second quarter at the 4:34 mark off an assist from Pat Healey. Before the half the Heat would cut the lead to 3 with a goal from Jose Luis Birche. At the half the Blast led 5-2.

In the third quarter the Blast continued to control possession and add to their lead. Geaton Caltabiano found the back of the net early in the quarter with a goal assisted by Andrew Hoxie. Adriano Dos Santos would record his 5th goal of the season off an assist from Daniel Peruzzi to push the Blast lead back to 5. Jose Luis Birche would record his second goal of the game for the Heat but entering the final quarter the Blast led 7-3. 

Pat Healey found the back of the net :41 seconds into the fourth quarter off an assist from Tony Donatelli. This power play goal was Healey’s second goal of the season and Donatelli’s team leading 21st assist. Vini Dantas would get in on the scoring with back to back goals. First a power play goal at the 2:18 mark off Tony Donatelli’s third assist of the game followed by his 19th goal of the season off an assist from Jonatas Melo. The 11th Blast goal of the night came from Juan Periera. His 7th goal of the season extended the Blast lead to 8 and would seal the victory for the Blast. At the final buzzer the Blast defeated the Heat 11-3.

The Blast were led by Tony Donatelli who recorded a goal and 3 assists. The entire team contributed offensively with 9 players recording goals. In net for the Blast, William Vanzela recorded 12 saves in the victory.
