Blast Announce Return of Pat Healey

Baltimore, MD (Dec. 7, 2016) - Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that team has re-signed 2016 MASL Defender of the Year, Pat Healey and forward Daniel Peruzzi.

Pat Healey ranks 6th all-time in blocks, 9th all-time in assists, 20th all-time in games played, and 26th all-time in goals. He is also 2nd in postseason assists, 3rd in postseason blocks, and 23rd in postseason games played. He was named to all-league teams in 4 seasons and was named Defender of the Year the last two seasons.

In addition to Healey the Blast have added forward Daniel Peruzzi. Peruzzi has experience playing futsal in Italy and has most recently played for Milano Calcio.

Blast head coach, Danny Kelly, said “Whenever you can add the reigning defender of the year back into your team, it's a good thing.  Our goal every season is to compete for a championship, and Pat coming back with the qualities that he brings has increased our chances of doing just that. Daniel Peruzzi has the potential to be a special player in our league once he picks up the indoor game.  Coming from a futsal background, he's got very good technical skills as well as goal scoring ability.  I'm looking forward to having Daniel in Baltimore and integrating him into the team.”

Blast owner, Ed Hale, said “Pat has been our team co-captain and leader and is arguably the best defensive player in the MASL.  When he left, it was a difficult process to replace him.  I saw him at our opening game and asked if there was a possibility for him to return for another season.  Happily, that has worked out and he will be back in the lineup on December 29th.”

The Blast play at home Saturday, December 10th against the Florida Tropics at 7:35 p.m. from the Royal Farms Arena. Tickets are available by calling the Blast offices at 410-73-BLAST or through TicketMaster.com.
