Barracudas Adds Former Ascenso MX Player to their Roster

HIDALGO, Texas (Oct. 17, 2018) – The Rio Grande Valley Barracudas are halfway through announcing all their signed players for their 2018-2019 season and it´s been recently announced that they´ve drafted former Ascenso MX player, Luis Eduardo Maldonado. Per team and league policies, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Luis Eduardo Maldonado, referred to as Edu, has held contracts with Club Atlas and Atletico San Luis – both teams in the Ascenso MX, the second professional level of the Mexican football league system. Edu will now be trading field soccer for arena soccer and joining the Barracudas in their upcoming season.

General Manager Oscar Ruvalcaba Jr states, “Arena soccer is definitely different from field soccer. Similar, yes, but different alas. Our advantage here is that Edu has the proper skill set, condition, and training needed for this type of soccer. He has a lot to contribute to our team and we welcome him with open arms.”
