Adamson & Ferdinand Latest Additions to MASL International Challenge
St. Charles, MO (May 24, 2017) – St. Louis Ambush midfielder Corey Adamson and Milwaukee Wave midfielder Max Ferdinand have been added to the Major Arena Soccer League’s International Challenge, which is slated for Friday, June 16 at 7:35 p.m. CT at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The International Challenge will feature players and All-Stars fromacross the league in a “USA versus The World” format.
The popular Adamson is a native of Clearwater, Florida. His professional indoor career began with the Las Vegas Legends in2012, but that season was shortened by an injury. He came to tryouts for thethen-expansion St. Louis Ambush in 2013 and made the team. He holds thedistinction of scoring the first-ever goal for the franchise. Corey went to theMilwaukee Wave in a 2015 trade, then joined the Cedar Rapids Rampage for the2015-16 season. He returned to the Ambush as a free agent prior to the start ofthe 2016-17 season.
The Haitian-born Ferdinand is a veteran of eight seasons. He played with the Baltimore Blast from 2009 through 2015, and joined the Wave for the start of the 2015-16 season. He was outstanding last season, ranking seventh in the league in points (48), first in assists (30) and seventh in average points per game (2.67). He was the MISL Rookie of the Year as a member of the Blast for the 2009-10 season.
More players will be announced this week. Each MASL team was invited to nominate their players for the International Challenge match and the International Challenge committee will select the rosters.
Leading up to this year’s International Challenge,the Ambush and Family Arena will host the 2017 MASL Player Combine on Friday,June 16 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Combine will give potential players from all over the chance to work out in front of coaches and team representatives from across the league, and have the chance to earn an invite to a preseason MASL camp. Four players from the combine will also be selected to participate in the International Challenge game that night.
