WAVE READY TO TANGLE WITH DIVISION RIVAL COMETS SUNDAY AFTERNOON
The 7-time champion Milwaukee Wave is in Kansas City Sunday afternoon to face the rival Comets at Cable Dahmer Arena. “This week we’ve been working on the little things in preparation for KC,” said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. “We let the game slip through of fingers against Utica City last weekend and we don’t want that to happen again. We’ve got to stay away from beating ourselves.” This will be the fourth of six meetings between the rivals this season and so far the series is even at two games apiece. “We know it’s not going to be an easy game and we know they’ve added Zac Reget too,” added Oliviero. But we’ve made some additions of our own as we welcome back Tony Walls for the remainder of the season.” Milwaukee native Tony Walls returns to his hometown team after playing in Cedar Rapids, Ontario and most recently St. Louis for the past four seasons. Walls began his MASL career in Milwaukee during the 2014-2015 season. “Adding Tony Walls to the equation certainly helps,” said Oliviero. “He brings a lot of experience and fight to the team and it’s good to have him back. The question now is how quickly can he get adjusted to what we do here. I’m not worried and I know the guys will bring him up to speed.”
