CAL EXPRESS WITH A BIG OT WIN

TURLOCK,CA (November 22th, 2019) The Turlock Cal Express hosted the Kansas City Comets this Friday night at Turlock Indoor for their first game of the season. After an intense back and forth goal battle, time ran out in the fourth pushing the match into extra time. Juan Gonzalez who recently signed with the Express off a trade deal with the San Diego Sockers , received a pass from Adrian ‘Kiko” Gutierrez and blasted one in right past the Comets Keeper giving them the big 6-5 OT win.

Turlock Cal Express began the opening quarter playing keep away and moving the ball around to find a rhythm. The Kansas City Comets eventually caught on and found two key opportunities that put them up on the board first.

Adrian ‘Kiko’ Gutierrez who was a great deal tonight as he kept pushing his teammates to pressure more was able to find the back of the net soon after cutting down Comets lead by 1.

This goal gave Cal Express momentum in the 2nd with three goals (Adrian Pulido, Jorge Carmona, and Gerardo Jurado) that put them up top for the first time in the match.

Comets Jon Sosa then tied the game the game up before Gerado Jurado came in with a canon shoot that ended the first half of the game in Turlock’s favor.

The final two quarters showed both MASL squads working hard trying to find an open corner to place the ball in after goals from Juan Manuel Rojo and Adam James tied them back up in the 4th. After running out of time, extra minutes were added and they headed into sudden death.

Kansas City Comets were issued a blue card a few minutes in for having an extra man on the field weakening their attacking abilities. This gave Turlock the opportunity to capitalize and they did just that.

Cal Express will now head to southern California as they take on The San Diego Sockers at 5:05 pm.
