TURLOCK TAKES THE WIN
(TURLOCK, CA., February 15th, 2019)— The second win for the Express took place tonight at Turlock Indoor as they hosted South West team, El Paso Coyotes. The Final score of 12-8 fell in favor of the Express this time around after taking two losses on the road when they met in Texas several weeks prior.
Tonight’s opening quarter began with a goal for The Coyotes scored by Alexis Mendoza. This goal gave El Paso an early lead in the game as they entered the match in search of their 4th win of the season.
Despite securing the first goal, El Paso did not hold any further leads for the remainder of the game as they entered the second quarter down 4-1 to the Express who scored 4 consecutive goals by Douglas Lima, Carlos Manzo and two by JC Bugarin.
In Quarters 2 & 3, the Express continued to play an offensive game playing off one another that in return got them 6 additional goals on the board.
El Paso who played catch up during all 4 quarters was able to find the back of the net in 4 occasions that cut down the Express lead in half.
In the 4th is where Turlock’s crowd began to sit on the edge of their seats as they witnessed a different Coyote team who is known as being a 4th quarter challenger. Tonight they put the ball away 3 times in the final 15 minutes of play but was not enough to change the game around.
Regardless of the final score, Luis Palacios from the Coyotes had quite the game with 3 goals tonight while their leading scorer, Hugo Puentes got 2 in. Douglas Lima was another player who had 3 while Carlos Manzo had 2 for the Express.
