Tropics wrap up 5-game road trip with games at KC and St. Louis

LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Florida Tropics, presented by Bond Clinic and in their seventh season of action in the Major Arena Soccer League, will wrap up a season-long five-game road trip with matchups Friday night in Kansas City against the Comets and Saturday night in St. Louis against the Ambush.

Both games are scheduled for 8:05 EST kickoffs and both will be broadcast live on MASL TV on Twitch. In addition, Friday’s game will be broadcast live on The Spot KMCI TV Channel 38 in Kansas City.

Kansas City and the Tropics – who will meet again Feb. 19 in Lakeland – are neck and neck in the standings, with Florida currently holding down second place in the East Division with 23 points (7-4-2 overtime losses) while Kansas City is third in the division with 20 points (6- 4-4 overtime losses). However, the Comets have played one more game so far this season
than Florida has.

St. Louis, meanwhile, is looking to get into playoff position as they enter the weekend currently sixth in the East. The top five teams in the division make the post-season. The Ambush at 4-7-1 has only played 12 games to date.

Florida is led by Ricardo Carvalho and Victor Parreiras, who has missed two games now with a quad injury and is out again this weekend, each having 21 points. Lucas Sousa leads Kansas City with 23 points while St. Louis – who hosts the division-leading Milwaukee Wave on Friday night – is led offensively by Robert Kristo with 13 points.

After this weekend, the Tropics will enjoy a little home cooking again with back-to-back Sunday matinees at the RP Funding Center with the Comets visiting Feb. 19 and the Tacoma Stars in town on Feb. 26.

Home game tickets are available starting at just $7 per game by calling the arena box office at 863-834-8111. Although tickets are also available online at www.rpfundingcenter.com, service fees are significantly higher through Ticketmaster as
opposed to calling the box office directly.
