MASL JANUARY AWARDS

KANSAS CITY (Feb 1, 2017) – The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) is excited to announce the winners of their January Awards this morning. These individuals stood out among their peers as each team in the MASL tries to mount their run towards the 2017 Playoffs.

Goalkeeper of the Month – Chris Toth (San Diego Sockers)
Chris Toth led all MASL goalkeepers in January with a .900 Saves Average. He won every game he started in the month and helped his team to finish January at the top of the Pacific Division. He also accomplished what no other team in the MASL has so far this season. On January 21st, Toth and the Sockers held Sonora to only two goals, 10 goals below their per game average, in a big 5-2 win at home.

Player of the Month – Max Ferdinand (Milwaukee Wave)
Max Ferdinand and the Milwaukee Wave have been on a  roll in January. Ferdinand scored six of their 41 goals in the month, but he assisted on 11 of them. That’s nearly a third of all Milwaukee’s scoring that have involved the veteran forward.

Coach of the Month – Goran Karadzov (Kansas City Comets)
The Kansas City Comets were in unfamiliar territory the first half of the season, looking up in the standings. Head Coach Goran Karadzov has steadied his team as they have climbed to the top of the Central Division in January. Along the way the team won all five games in the month, including four of them on the road.
