MASL, a new challenge in my career: Vuoso
HIDALGO, TEXAS - Ex Club America player, Mexican National Team player and a well-known star in Mexican soccer, Vicente Matías Vuoso, has been announced as the new member of the Rio Grande Valley Barracudas family, part of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL).
"The MASL is a new challenge in my career, something different, a different experience" said Vuoso after the press conference at State Farm Arena where he was announced as the new forward of the Texan club.
The Argentinian with a Mexican heart, he has Mexican citizenship and even defended the Aztecs’' shirt during the 2015 Copa América in Chile, knows arena soccer is one of the most demanding sports and is looking "to catch up as soon as possible, to be able to physically do the things needed to understand it and adapt myself soon."
Before him, the MASL has been home to many Mexican soccer stars like Luis Alonso Sandoval with the Chicago Mustangs and Luis Ángel Landín with Barracudas.
"I've been invited to be part of this new challenge," said Vicente after the press conference where he was announced as the new forward for RGV Barracudas, "first of all, there's the things that I need to do in order to benefit the club, and then there's my personal benefit."
The now Barracudas forward took advantage of the spotlight and sent the following message to his fans: "I'm going to try to prepare and make everything possible for the well-being of the team".
The RGV Barracudas next game is on the road as the take on the Sonora Soles at Centro de Usos Multiple in Sonora, Mexico on Thursday, November 30th with the kickoff set at 8:35 PM MST. The Barracudas next home game is on Sunday, December 3rd, against the Turlock Express with the kick off set for 5:05 PM CST.
