HEAT LOOK TO SNAP SKID ON SATURDAY VS BALTIMORE

The Harrisburg Heat return home on Saturday, January 22nd to play the Baltimore Blast at the Equine Arena located at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Arena. Game time is 7:05 PM. The Heat are looking for their first win after five games while the Baltimore Blast have four wins and two losses. The game can also be viewed on line at masltv.com.

The Heat have had some unfortunate events that have help lead to the tough start. The Harrisburg Heat signed four international players this off-season including midfielder Daniel Villela who was a returning all-league player in addition to midfielder James Vaughan, and forwards Yuri Farkas and Ricardo John. None of these four players have been approved for their visa by the United States Department of Homeland Security.

Compounding the issue of not being able to get the visas approved, the team was struck with a major Covid outbreak after their last home game on December 18th. The team was completely shut down and could not practice for two weeks. Thankfully with the guidance from our outstanding medical provider, Penn State Health, the team was able to physically recover. However, the team is still suffering from the lack of practice time. Once again this week due to the weather, the team was stuck in Florida for an extra day and missed another practice day. This was replaced by a strong video analysis of our games this weekend with the team. The team was able to return to the practice facility this Wednesday.

Entering the game on Saturday, Dominic Francis leads the team with five goals and seven points. Elton de Oliveira leads the team in blocks with eleven and William Banahene is second in the league with a save percentage of 77%. Baltimore Blast are led by Lucas Roque and Jonatas Melo who have thirteen and ten points respectfully. Goalkeeper, William Vanzela ranks third in the league in goals against average with 4.57 goals against per game For tickets, please go to www.harrisburgheat.com.
