HEAT CONTINUE TO BUILD WITH SIGNING OF FORWARD YURI FARKAS

by Harrisburg Heat

The Harrisburg Heat are pleased to announce that they have signed forward Yuri Farkas. Per team and league policies, financial terms of the agreement are not disclosed.

Farkas, a native of Brazil, won a USL 2 national championship with the Flint City Bucks. Farkas attended Madonna University, where he was a three-time NAIA All-American. Farkas, who is twenty-eight years old, signed a five-year contract with the Harrisburg Heat.

Harrisburg Head Coach and General Manager Pat Healey is pleased about the signing of Yuri Farkas. Healey said: “Yuri is another player that we have been trying to get for the last few years, and I am happy to finally get him. With his futsal background, I am not sure if he will be a second forward or target but it is nice to have some flexibility. He is a natural goal scorer who can take players on one- versus-one.”

Farkas said “We all went through difficult times during the pandemic. COVID took a lot from me and from a lot of people. I’m grateful for this opportunity to be back in the United States doing what I love again. It’s just like being reborn again. Can’t wait to start the season and do what I do best.”

The MASL stretches across North America with teams in the United States and Mexico. The 2021-2022 home opener for the Heat is Saturday, December 18th versus Utica City FC. Game time is 7:05 PM.  For ticket information, please contact the Heat at tickets@harrisburgheat.com.
