FLORIDA SWEEPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS

The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the winners of the Week 2 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week. Zach Reget, offense and Hugo Silva, defense, both of the Florida Tropics earned the honors.

 The offensive and defensive players of the week are nominated and voted on by media and broadcasters covering the MASL.

Hugo Silva, a 6’ 2” goalkeeper from Rio de Janiero, Brazil boasted an impressive .881 save percentage over his two games in rival Baltimore and Utica territory. Silva made 37 saves on 42 shots. He also added a tally of his own scoring on Utica in game two of the weekend.

Zach Reget, former MASL Rookie of the Year put on a stellar performance in his team’s opening weekend to earn the Offensive Player of the Week honors. Reget of Kenosha, Wisconsin scored four goals over back-to-back appearances including the game-winning goal over Baltimore. Reget is now second in the league for goals scored behind Kansas City’s Leo Gibson.

Both players return to action as Florida hosts the Ontario Fury on Saturday, December 18. Kick-off is at 5:05pm EST.
