COMETS NAME STEFAN STOKIC AS HEAD COACH

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – Two and a half years after finishing his playing career and becoming an Assistant Coach for the Kansas City Comets, Stefan Stokic has been named as the Head Coach for the organization he joined almost 13 years ago. Per team and league policies, the terms of the three-year agreement were not disclosed.

Stokic, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, was a member of the 2013-14 MISL Championship team and finished his MASL Comets career with 120 blocks in 108 games including playoff appearances.

“Being the Head Coach of the KC Comets is a dream come true for me” Stokic said. That being said, taking the helm of the team is one goal achieved, and several more to go.

“As the head coach, I have a number of goals that we are working towards. We want to bring a winning mentality, (and) we want to be a top-flight team in the league. We want to bring a Championship home for the best Fans in the League.”

The Comets fans made a statement of their own last season as they lead the league in attendance by a large margin and Stokic’s final comment may excite them further.

“We are the KC Comets, and we are here to win.”
